When to Plant
Cold Hardy Vegetables
Plant your cold hardy vegetables under the Grow it Now! Mini Greenhouses as soon as the soil can be worked.
We planted our cold hardy vegetables 2 1/2 months before the average last frost on March 19, 2011 and our plants were snowed on five times, experienced temperatures as low as 18 degrees and wind gusts that reached 52 mph. See Weather Underground for details regarding our weather in March 2011 and April 2011. See our Garden Blog for pictures and details on growing in the early season. Many of us are discouraged when it comes to planting Cole Crops because the bugs are so bad. With the Grow it Now! Mini Greenhouses you will be harvesting your crops before it is warm enough for the bugs to infect them.
Warm Weather Vegetables
Warm weather vegetables can be planted 1-2 weeks before the average last frost date using the Grow it Now! Mini Greenhouses.
We planted our warm weather vegetables on May 14, 2011 which is 3 weeks before our average last frost date June 4, 2011. See Garden Blog for details. During the month of May, after we planted our warm weather plants, temperatures dropped down to 33 degrees one night and 31 degrees the following night. We also had wind gusts up to 48 MPH. See Weather Underground for details of the weather.
